Make your own Turbo SIM for $10 (SONIC SIM EXPOSED)
As you may or may not know, Turbo SIM’s are used to fake the IMSI and ICCID to look like AT&T. This effectively tricks the iPhone into believing a T-Mobile SIM is an AT&T SIM. At the moment this is the ONLY way to use another network besides AT&T on iPhones that come with firmware version 1.1.2 out of the box. I have been helping with a project created by g and Dark(DarKSideZ) from irc.osx86.hu. Basically, the idea is to reprogram one of those $10 dual SIM cards from eBay to work like a Turbo SIM. They got the idea from a recent video of Sonic SIM (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jkwn_Bb3Bho). In the video you can see what looks like a dual SIM card holder performing like a Turbo SIM. After seeing this g, Dark, myself (mxweas) and PsxGunDown got to work on trying to find how it was done. Soon we found Magic SIM, a $10 dual SIM card that can be reprogrammed using Magic SIM Card Reader & Writer. The Magic SIM software communicates with com/serial card writers. So programming Magic SIM’s dual SIM card with an AT&T IMSI and ICCID should produce the same results as Turbo SIM / Sonic SIM. We have yet to attempt this and would like to see if it actually works. If anyone has a SIM card writer, test out the instructions below and let us know your results. BigBuckz has tested the method and confirmed it working, but we are still waiting for pic/video confirmation.
Items Needed:
- Magic SIM’s Dual SIM Card (Must be a Magic SIM, others will not work) - MagicSIM, eBay
- Serial SIM Card Reader & Writer
- Magic SIM’s SIM Editing Software - Download
Put your AT&T SIM into your SIM writer, and open SIM Scanner and scan your AT&T SIM card. Write down the ICCID as we will need this later. Next open Woron Scan and get your IMSI. Now put in your Magic SIM Dual SIM Card and open SIM Data. Put in your AT&T IMSI and ICCID into and transfer it back to your Dual SIM. Using the paper guide from your Dual SIM, cut your provider’s SIM card accordingly. You should now be able to put your provider’s SIM card into the Dual SIM and then into your iPhone . If this works for anyone or you know of ways to improve these steps, post a reply in the comments of this post.

Edit (Dec 17): Those who claim this is a scam, I want to say that is completely false. First, how can I scam people if I make NO money from this? As I said in my first post, it was only a theory, and in my second post I said that though BigBuckz claims to have got the method to work he has no evidence. I’m sorry to those who jumped the gun to early and bought the materials needed for it, but I just wanted to clarify I had no intension’s of making it a hoax. It was just a theory that I hoped people who were willing to shell out a few bucks would try and not expect it to work.

I do have a sim card readed, but I need an adapter to fit my sims into it, since it only accepts full size sim cards similiar to access cards used for secure enviorments. If someone can provide a tray for the sim card, I can try it out.
Well at the moment we are testing, and it is theory at the moment, We will post outcomes and pictures as soon as we are sure about everything.

Why is the programmer needed? When we get the iPhone it ships with an AT&TSIM, can we not put that in a regular dual-SIM holder with our own SIM, switch on, then send the command to switch to the second SIM? I may be missing something.

Just to confirm this means use Sim DATA to make a dat file with the IMSI and ICCID in it save it. then open up Simscanner > Write to sim. open dat file. read the dual sim and the write the dat file across???

Pls don’t trust this, MagicSim has never been made to cheat the iPhone; remember that sim switching has to be done without disconnecting/resetting the sim card (like a TurboSim do after 2 IMSI/ICCID reading attempts).. In NO WAY MagicSim is manufactured to behave like that. iPhone will reject the sim since it has switched to your true provider sim.
So don’t trust what’s said here…
J is right. I just called the company and the 15th is programmable and 16 is not programmable. I ordered the 15th and 16th both and will try both of them.

when you plug in the magic sim into the reader writer nothing will connect to it ? Sim scanner comes up with “SIM Card Error” anyone care to ellaborate on how you put the IMSI and ICCID onto the magic sim?

Is this method really working??? WHy doesn’t anybody tells where to get the dam SIM card reader for serial communication??? I am afraid it will be a scam just to get money from people with the OTB 1.1.2 firmware iphone.

Guys - to answer your questions:
- You can use a USB Sim Card Reader - doesnt have to be serial.
- To use the USB Sim Card with the Magic Sim Software download the software package from here:

I dont have a Magic Sim Dual Sim card holder yet - I received an email from Mr Eric Chan in China and he can ship units really cheaply but you have to buy bulk - like 100 per box via FedEx, DHL, UPS or whatever you like.
I’m going to try and source a cell shop that sells the Magic Sim card here in the Philippines and try it out - I have everything else except the Magic Sim Card. If there arent any locally then I’m gonna have to order from a HongKong reseller I found on eBay.
If it really works then I’m ordering a box-full of Magic Sims and once again start ordering iPhones!!!!!

Firstly, I want to stress that all the time, i have only been referring to other people’s posts in different communities. As I mentioned before, I have NOT tested this myself, I have only read other people testing it and as you know, apparantly some succeeded.
Secondly, it has been comfirmed that 16th is NOT programmable while the 15th IS.
Thirdly, MagicSim’s developers are researching this now and progress is being made (at least, that’s what the people from MagicSim say)

I read something in a thread and I never saw an answer maybe one of you guys can test it. What happens if you put a magic sim card loaded with an At&T card and the normal provider. Then first switch on the AT&T card in the menue and let search the Iphone then switch in the menu to the normal provider. I now that would be too easy but can someoene test it please and post it!!
As I understood the Turbo sim also only gives two times the AT&T codes before switching to the providercard inserted.

@Menace_s - is your Sim card reader serial or USB? I bougt a cheap generic PHP295 ~ $7 USB Sim card reader and it works fine with the Version 15 Magic Sim software and AT&T card. I already have the IMSI and ICCID numbers from the AT&T card.
All I need now is to get that dual card holder….

Menace_s - I bought a USB Sim card reader that looks like the one bezman used except it is colored blue and is shaped like a small walkie-talkie (It’s made in China!). Sim Scanner, Woron and the rest of the software in the V15 Magic Sim software recognize my Sim Card.
When you ran the Magic Sim installer did it ask you to install the USB driver afterwards? It did for me. The USB installer window hung for a minute or so and then disappeared. Afterwards I was able to read the contents of any of my sims including the AT&T sim - I have 6 different Sim cards. You can also try a different USB port or uninstall, restart the PC and then reinstall.

I understand that as of now there is no firm proof that this works and there is no proper tutorial, but just for the sake of trying something new to get the iPhone to work with a non-AT&T card is worth it. I dont mind spending some time, effort and cash to hopefully find a way to help others with their OOTB 1.1.2 units. So till I get the actual Magic Sim dual sim holder - which is the last thing I need now - I’m still interested in this method. I”m not saying this is a true or fake unlock method - just staying in the neutral till I can confirm it doesnt or does work.
Then afterwards - move on to the next method and try again
At least I”m not like some other people who sit around and whine about not having an unlock for their phones and then when something promising comes up they put it down without first trying for themselves or at least trying to help out.

I’ll see this weekend if I can source a 15th dual sim locally, if not then I’ll order one from that hongkong reseller on ebay. Either way I’ll post afterwards if it’ll work or not.
I’ve also purchased 15th A Magic Sim on ebay as well as a sim card reader/writer. The total cost is only $20 so it’s worth the try. I’ll post here as well after I’ve received the goods which won’t be until next week though.

Hello guys! I also ordered some MagicSIMs from China, which are already under way. Hope I get them soon. The SimCard-Reader should be no problem for me I have a good friend at the mobile store, who will support me and give me his hardware for this hacking method. I will also try that with bootcamp, so all mac users outhere can profit if this should work. By the way my cards are the 16a versions. So good luck and lets pray that it does work. By the way, the MagicSIM website, does read supported phones: iPhone and MagicSIM Dual 16a, so the maker of the card does indeed say, that it supports the iPhone

Is there a possibility to just write the required data from AT&T onto your own sim(other carrier)?
Another solution COULD be to copy a other carriers Simdata to this 12-in-1 Simcard (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290191569383)

i was looking in ebay….there are many other unlock sims for sale that are magic sims and the sellers are selling for 85$ and up so this cant be imposible….i just wish someone that knows more about this stuff would try and help us
I spent money buying 12 magic sims from china , england, and greece and 3 different usb readers just because i am against people having a method to help others unlock there phones and keeping it to them self’s so they can make a fortune. anyway….im trying to get this done and the second i get it…i will post my exact instuctions if i am sucsessful.

I have ordered 2 MagicSIMS v16A from Shanghai and they are shipped and underway. So I hopefully get them in the next 3 days or so… Then I can start working and playing around with this solution.
So i’m in #iphone chat room and people are saying that this method is not confirmed as working and that BigBuckz lied when he said he has confirmed it as working…. Can someone clarify this?

Why would it be a scam? I make no money on this at all. I just wanted to share my thoughts about this, I had no original intension of this getting so huge. Someone on hackint0sh posted a link to here and it took off. Sorry if you chose to buy parts without solid confirmation from more than one person about the method.

My cards are here!! Its looking the same as the iTurboSIM2 and the only thing I dont have is a card reader. I put the both cards in the MagicSIM and put it into iPhone without having the simcard reader… It doenst work. But as I said, I must buy tomorrow a SIMcard reader… Then I will tell ya, if I got it to work.

The 15Th Generatiòn Magic sim is programable, yust like a theory, in case this metodh not function, maybe can read the program data of a iTurbosim2 (looks like the same hardware than Magicsim) & copy this informatiòn to the magic sim, that most be work, ¿dosen`t it?. if any body have the two of those please try it.

well, I have a magic dual sim, a sim writter and the sim cards. I read all info of my sim cards. I put the info of at&t in a dat file with sim data software and then I put the magic dual sim in the reader to read the info of this but It can’t read nothing, someone that did it the same was read the info of magic dual sim card?
Has anyone tried a stock Magic card, no matter what version it is. Cut up the AT&T card or another one that came with their iPhone, put that in SIM slot 1 on the Magic.. and thier other carries card in SIM slot 2 and once the phone boots up, go into SIM Application and switch from SIM 1 to SIM2?
I don’t have one of these.. but this is the first thing I would try. At the least I would think you could get a ATT sim signed up on Pay as you go.. then switch from SIM 1 to SIM 2 and that should work.

Got the 15th Magicsim, the card reader, the IMSI and the IMEI of my AT&T SIM but…
SIM Data requires the Ki and the SMSP, so I can´t go further.

I’ve got ething but i need to knw do i have to create a DAT file from the sim to write it on the Magic sim or i jus need the ICCID and IMSI nos…Cos without that how wud i be able to write on to my magic sim as it wont lemme without a DAT file..Someone please explain this..as im almost there to crack this piece of shit..!!
you can get your ICCID and IMSI by a programme on your iphone. It’s called BBInfo or Baseband Info. A download is available here:
