MxTube v2 Preview
MxTube v2 dev has been good for the past week. I’ve been working on it on and off, and the gui is coming along well. It will probably take me a month or so to finish because I am rewriting it from the ground up to remove all bugs. For now, here is a screenshot of the new search function:
Before starting a search you will be able to choose between YouTube Mobile, YouTube.com and Video ID. YouTube Mobile is what MxTube v1 and YouTube.app use, which has preconverted videos. For videos that do not show in YouTube Mobile, a YouTube.com option is available to download and convert videos straight from YouTube.com. Last is Video ID search which allows you to enter the Video ID to find a specific video. I’m very excited to get this app finished and released asap, when I know the date of release you will be able to find it here on mxweas.com.

If its going to take a couple of months, couldnt you just release a partial download fix for the old mxtube so people can use it while waiting for the new release ?
Im sure there are many, many people who would appreciate that.
COOl..can’t wait.please release this app.I can’t download any video in high quwality beacuse of bug..and low qu is very bed.please give us a medium quwality option too.how about a download bug fix patch till 2.1.this is a best app for iphone .thanks for your time.

I’ve told you another time that you could add a feauture to download ONLY audio.
You said thats not possible.
please contact the developer of “ringtones”, he said he can do this (download the video and then make it an audio file)

by the way, is there any way to localize this app? mxtube has no localization.strings or other things.
ps. I think youtube changed its process - premature download doesn’t occur anymore.
hey, idk if u did something but mxtube is now letting me download full high quality videoes. Is anyone else’s working?

You mean MxTube v1 is now downloading full videos & doesn’t exhibit the partial download bug anymore?
I stopped using MxTube a long time ago & have uninstalled it. So I can’t confirm.
I’ll wait for a few more responded to this before I install MxTube again.

hello, i want to ask you that when i delete the video i download, is it delete completely from the storage on my ipod touch or do i have to do it in other way? thanks! it’s a great app by the way^^!i love it！
one more thing. Will mxtube 2 be developed with SDK? None of 1.1.x apps(toolchain) can run on 2.0, you know.
hey i have been using mxtube for quite a wile now and appreciate for making it available. i just want u to add the downloading pause feature and the feature that lets it download video even if it is on standby mode (locked - where we have to slide it to unlock) just like the ipod plays the songs even if the phone is in locked mode. I think these features would really improve it.

I’m really looking forward to these new features. Do you know if the video ID feature will allow you to download videos that require a birth date confirmation? If not, could you add a feature that allows for downloading of these types of videos. Thank you. ^_^

i just want to confirm that mxtubev1 is now working for full downloading not like the last premature bugs(i think youtube dev is doing their homeworks well…hehehe)…n it works well on my iphone…
plus one feature i want to request on mxtube2 :

Could you guys add folders so we could organise the clips? Or maybe even the possibility to sync it with itunes so that we could organise them under movies –> music videos on the iphone?

I agreed with Handiman, could you release the partial version with the premature download bug fixed/solved now.
As we have been experiencing this, even on low quality download.
By saying that, I would definitely say your app is the most Brilliant!!!
We are all waiting desperately for your App.

It’s a great application, and i guess almost everyone will be using it once they own an iphone.
Please add a feature to rename the video after download. Some download names are too long, and not able to choose which is which from limited name spaces available to show. Tks a lot!!
would be nice a mp3 downloader too. from youtube save to mp3

to confirm those of you who ‘previosuly’ couldn’t download full videos:
I have been able to sucessfully download videos up to 39Mb large within 1 minute.

I’m using mxtube 1. I’m able to download a full video. however, is there a way to move the video to video library of the ipod. or it’s better that it saves the video directly to the ipod video library.
