Installer vs. Cydia

I just got back from vacation to find a new firmware update and an update to pwnage tool that includes installer 4. I finally got around to checking out installer 4 and I found it to be laggy and almost unusable. It spawns a new task for anything it does including basic things like loading images, which is the cause of the lag. Cydia on the other hand is fast stable and contains a very powerful backend. I plan to get MxTube up on Installer 4, but I strongly suggest using Cydia whenever possible. The apt backend provides an amazing packaging system to devs which assures all packages are installed & removed exactly how they should be. Unless you require shiny graphics in your package manager, Cydia should be all anyone would ever need.

how do u get Cydia and does it have the same apps as installer?
you can find cydia in your installer …. Most of the apps are the same …. So i would recommend it …

Cydia has MORE apps than Installer 4 at the moment. Cydia should have came with the new Pwnage tool or Winpwn.

uhh for 2.0 can u make it so that if u put it on sleep while watching a video on mxtube that it still plays plz?
On my iPod Cydia crashes almost every time I try to install an application and Installer works FINE.
Although, I am on Installer 4 Beta 5.
Damn straight. Installer 4 sucks! Cydia ftw. And also, saurik ( author of cydia installer ) is a complete genius.

Very silly to compare an application which is in beta or alpha imo to one that has finished all that. Besides, it isn’t a port, unlike Cydia.
